Matthew P. Karstens
Associate Attorney
Matthew P. Karstens graduated from Illinois State University in 2016 where he received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a minor in Political Science. Matthew went on to graduate from Northern Illinois University School of Law and School of Business in 2020 receiving his Juris Doctor and Master of Business Administration degrees.
As a licensed attorney, Matthew worked as an Assistant State’s Attorney with the Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office where he handled traffic, misdemeanor, and DUI cases prior to being promoted to the felony division. Prior to joining the Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office, Matthew worked as an associate attorney at a family law firm handling matters in Cook County and the collar counties. While there, Matthew primarily focused on family law matters including divorce, allocation of parental decision-making and parenting time (formerly custody and visitation), child support, spousal support, relocation, orders of protection, and prenuptial/postnuptial agreements.
Matthew has considerable courtroom and trial experience which has molded him into a zealous advocate for his clients. Whether inside the courtroom or engaging in negotiations, Matthew will strive to achieve the best possible resolution for his clients.
